‘Biggest cleanout in decades’ could see 11 Roosters stars leave

The Roosters are set to undergo their biggest cleanout in two decades if they fail to make the finals. The glamour team is currently in 12th spot on the ladder, but just one point away from eighth position on a congested table. The Roosters have been massive under-performers and remarkably, with one of the best rosters in the league, have scored less points than any team in the NRL.

The club has already signed Penrith hardman Spencer Leniu and Knights tryscoring ace g,Dom Youn while former favouriteitchell  MPearce is likely to rejoin the club, meaning players will have to go. Roosters supremo Nick Politis has poured millions of dollars into the club and demands excellence in return – and it hasn’t been forthcoming.

Back in the 1980s and ’90s, the Roosters were known as the game’s “transit lounge” because of the numbers of players coming and going every year. The arrival of Trent Robinson – and many years of success – brought a new stability to the club… but things could be about to change. Assistant coach Jason Ryles has already been shown the door for talking to rival clubs while classy utility back Joseph Suaalii is likely to be released despite being under contract for next year after signing with the ARU for 2025 and big forward Fletcher Baker has signed with Brisbane.
