Daniel Podence has expressed how happy he is at Olympiacos at the moment, amid reports the club are yet to decide whether to trigger their option to buy the Wolves attacker.

Daniel Podence Touted to Be Confirmed as New Wolves Signing on Sunday in €23m Transfe

Podence has been with the Greek giants since the start of the season, and has had a pretty good spell up to now.

He’s made 28 appearances and at the weekend against PAOK, he scored his 10th goal of the season – and it was a stunning strike that left the likes of Diego Costa, Matheus Nunes and Nelson Semedo impressed on social media.

Podence has also laid on four assists.

The 28-year-old’s Wolves future is up in the air, but it has been claimed today that Olympiacos are yet to make a decision on triggering their option to buy the player.

Seemingly, the player would not mind the club eventually doing that…

Wolves star Daniel Podence says he’s feeling the love at Olympiacos, after superb display v PAOK

Podence spoke to the club’s official YouTube channel after their game against PAOK at the weekend, which Olympiacos won 4-1.

Podence scored a sensational goal and also laid on an assist.

Wolves’ £17 million signing was loaned out to Olympiacos after suitable permanent offers were not forthcoming for the player.

Podence was a player the club were looking to move on, but in the end, a loan move to Olympiacos suited all parties. Wolves extended his contract just before he left to protect his value, and the Greek giants do have an option to buy with around £4.3 million.

Given what the player said after the win over PAOK, it looks like he would be more than happy if Olympiacos triggered it.

He said: “I think everyone knows the answer (what Olympiacos means to me). I was in the best league in the world and I chose to come here, where I feel happy and, not comfortable, but loved. Even in the bad moments.

“That’s what it means. I’m at home, and when you are at home you feel the best in the world.”

Podence sounds like he’s ready to leave Wolves permanently

Matt Hobbs said previously that the door is not completely closed for Podence at Wolves.

But Podence’s comments feel fairly significant in terms of his future – he sounds like he loves where he is right now, and Olympiacos are surely pleased with how his loan spell has gone so far, with the player making 14 goal contributions in 28 games.

They can buy Podence for around £4.3 million and at the moment, it feels as though they will ultimately trigger that option.

Obviously things could change and maybe O’Neil will attempt to integrate Podence back into the first-team at Wolves.

But given how he was training away from the first-team before he left, that doesn’t feel too likely.
