Aston Villa’s manager Unai Emery has prolonged his commitment to the club until at least 2027, with an extension of his existing contract by an additional 12 months. Although his previous deal had two years remaining, both parties have agreed to this extension. Villa also plans to engage in discussions with the 52-year-old during the summer regarding a new, more long-term contract.

Since taking over from Steven Gerrard in November 2022, Emery has significantly transformed Villa’s fortunes, leading them from a relegation battle to the verge of Champions League qualification this season. Additionally, the team’s progression to the Europa Conference League semi-final, where they will face Olympiakos, positions them as favorites to win the tournament, potentially securing their first European trophy since 1982.

Emery’s impressive achievements have attracted attention from other clubs, with recent links to the vacant managerial position at Bayern Munich. Several other top European clubs may also be eyeing him this summer, given his successful stints with Sevilla, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Following a seventh-placed finish last season under Emery’s guidance, Villa has shown significant improvement this term and is currently in prime position to secure a historic fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification.
