Florida State Dealt Unfortunate News on Wednesday…

To say that the Florida State Seminoles have had a rough season would be an understatement. Things got worse on Wednesday as one of their players entered the transfer portal.

247Sports’ Chris Hummer reported that Florida State EDGE rusher Patrick Payton had entered the transfer portal after spending 2021-24 in Tallahassee, Fla.

Florida State opened the season as the No. 10 team in the polls. The Seminoles lost their first three games of the season and won their first game of the year against Cal, 14-9.

Florida State went on a six-game losing streak before snapping it against Charleston Southern. However, the Seminoles lost to Florida 31-11 to end the regular season 2-10.

Payton was a former four-star EDGE rusher in the 2021 class. He is the No. 3 EDGE rusher in the On3 Transfer Portal Industry Rankings. He chose the Seminoles over FIU, Georgia, and Kansas as a recruit.
