ESPN personality says Steelers would be better with Justin Fields

Dan Orlovsky says Pittsburgh would be better with Justin Fields

The Steelers had their most successful day offensively in Week 12, surpassing 400 yards for the first time in over three years. Kenny Pickett also had arguably his best game of the year, going 24-of-33 for 278 yards, finishing second amongst all quarterbacks in Week 12 in CPOE and seventh in EPA/play.

That in mind, one ESPN personality suggested that the Steelers would be better off pursuing the services of a certain NFC North quarterback.

In a post on X, analyst Dan Orlovsky included the Steelers in a list of teams that would be better with current Bears quarterback Justin Fields.

Like Pickett, the dual-threat quarterback hasn’t been dealt the best hand when it comes to play callers. Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy has done Fields no favors with his play calls. Like Matt Canada, the Bears seem to avoid the middle of the field with Fields, relying far too much on screens and throws outside the numbers.

In terms of EPA+CPOE composite score, Fields ranks 19th in the NFL this season, compared to Pickett, who ranks 30th. Fields also has twice the passing touchdowns that Pickett has, currently sitting with 12 in eight games played.
