We had some early predictions about the offseason’s winners and losers, but the first third of the regular season has brought many unexpected developments, both good and bad, that provide a clearer view of the best moves made this winter.
While Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto are delivering the expected boost to their teams and Seth Lugo and Shōta Imanaga are exceeding expectations, Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery — two prominent free agents — have struggled after signing later than expected.
