Chargers add Justin Herbert weapon to injury report for Cowboys game

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, wide receiver Josh Palmer (groin) was added to the injury list on Sunday. He is currently doubtful to play against the Cowboys.

Being placed on the injured list is not a good indication for any player. The Chargers, however, have yet to formally rule Palmer out. When the Los Angeles Rams enter the field for pregame warmups and Palmer can work out his groin issue, they should have a clearer idea of whether he will be ready to play.

If Palmer is unable to play, the Chargers will be without another wide receiver. Mike Williams is already out for the season after tearing his ACL. While they have Keenan Allen, Herbert requires more than one target.

Palmer has been filling in for Williams for Herbert and LA so far. Palmer has caught seven catches for 143 yards and a touchdown in the last two weeks.

Josh Palmer will have an extra day to recover before the Chargers officially have to make an injury decision. However, Justin Herbert and company can’t be feeling confident after seeing him join the injury report on Sunday.

A matchup against the Cowboys is tough already. Without a strong WR2 to throw to in Palmer, it’ll get much tougher.
