Celtic celebrated a double victory on Saturday, marking the 118th major honor in the club’s storied history. This achievement brings Celtic on par with Rangers, the original club founded in 1872, and their successor formed in 2012 by Charles Green, who falsely claim to be the continuation of the defunct club. Despite Rangers’ claims of being the world’s most successful football club based on their trophy count, Celtic’s recent success levels the playing field. With both clubs now equal in major honors, Celtic fans anticipate surpassing Rangers if they secure the league cup next season.

While Celtic acknowledges their success, they refrain from making grandiose claims of being the most successful club in the world, recognizing the achievements of clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich. Conversely, Rangers have proudly flaunted this title, displaying it at their stadium and training ground. However, it’s now time for Rangers to reconsider this boast, as it becomes increasingly untenable.

The upcoming League Cup holds particular significance, as a victory for Celtic would further diminish Rangers’ claim to superiority.
