Duchene, who joined the Stars on a one-year deal after being bought out by the Nashville Predators last offseason, has proven to be a valuable asset for his new team. In the regular season, he tallied impressive stats with 25 goals and 65 points in 80 games. Notably, he delivered a double overtime winner against his former team, the Colorado Avalanche, in the second round of the playoffs.
Adding Duchene to the Bruins’ top six would be a significant boost, given his continued impact on the ice. Teaming up with players like David Pastrnak could generate considerable offensive firepower, while also enhancing the team’s power play performance.
Although the Stars may seek to retain Duchene, if they fail to reach a new agreement, the Bruins should seriously consider pursuing him when free agency opens on July 1st.
