Bruce Springsteen Issues Bold Response to Farewell Tour Rumors
Bruce Springsteen recently reacted to rumors going around about a possible farewell tour and retirement, sharing some strong words that had fans cheering.
During a recent concert at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa., on Aug. 23, Springsteen directly addressed the retirement reports, saying to an excited crowd, “We’ve been around 50 f—ing years and we ain’t quitting!”

Springsteen then emphasized his continued success, seeing no need to stop performing anytime soon when so many fans want to see him, saying, “Farewell to what? Thousands of people screaming your name?”
“Yeah, I wanna quit that,” he sarcastically joked, leading to laughs and more cheers in the audience before people started booing the idea of Springsteen retiring. Before he performed his next song, the music icon reiterated his dedication to music, saying, “I ain’t going anywhere.”
“This is what I wanted to hear!” wrote a happy fan in the comments, while another declared, “Bruce forever.”
“Leave it to Bruce, dispelling retirement rumors with such humor. Glad to know he’s not hanging up his Tele any time soon — or ever,” said a different fan responding to Springsteen’s statement.
Others called it “sweet music to our ears” and “good news.”
Springsteen’s next show is set for Sept. 7 in Washington, D.C., followed by Baltimore, Md., on Sept. 13 and Ashbury Park, N.J., on Sept. 15. He then has a short break from touring until Oct. 31 when he starts the Canadian leg of his tour.
European fans of Springsteen can also catch the musician in Spring 2025 starting in May when he has a handful of dates in France, the Czech Republic and Italy.
