Aston Villa must recruit players ‘hungry to win titles’ in their hint for European glory

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

Aston Villa need experienced players in the squad to help achieve their European goals this season, according to Ty Bracey.

Villa have been linked to a host of quality veteran stars. According to Tribal Football (24 August), the Villans have made an offer to Barcelona for Marcos Alonso, while Fabrizio Romano claimed (17 August) that Sevilla’s Marcos Acuna had accepted personal terms until an injury prevented a move.

Villa’s recruitment up to this point has been quite young, with Moussa Diaby (24), Pau Torres (26), Youri Tielemans (26) and the latest newcomer Nicolo Zaniolo (24) all too young to have the same experiences and opportunities as other potential signings.

Bracey claims that the club needs players used to winning, but who still have that desire to earn more trophies as Villa continue their journey to recapture European glory.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “We still need experienced players in the side. We are looking at players who have experience in the European competitions and a lot of experience under their belt.

“Marcos Alonso has plenty of experience here and he’s used to winning. You can say the same about Marcos Acuna, they’re both winners.

“We want people who are hungry to win titles.”

In other Aston Villa news, a Villa star’s expected move from Villa Park has been delayed.
