LIVE UPDATES: Georgia Bulldogs football National Signing Day HQ
Here are the latest updates in Georgia football recruiting on signing day.
Another year, another recruiting class coming a close.
Yet another recruiting cycle where Georgia has an opportunity to be top dog.
On Wednesday at 7 a.m. local time, the first day of the December early signing period officially begins. Per usual, Georgia finds itself near the top of the 2024 class recruiting rankings. The Bulldogs entered Wednesday ranked No. 1 overall in the 247Sports recruiting rankings ahead of Alabama and Ohio State, and they look poised to hold onto the top spot. Georgia already has 27 commitments in its 2024 group, and there’s the possibility for at least one more add on signing day.
Check out this schedule of events for Georgia commits and targets on signing day.
While Wednesday is a big day, it’s a formality for many of Georgia’s 2024 recruits. Of the 27 commits, there are already at least 13 players already on campus for bowl practices — Ellis Robinson, Justin Williams, Chris Cole, Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Daniel Calhoun, Jaden Reddell, Ondre Evans, Marques Easley, Ryan Puglisi, Sacovie White, Nnamdi Ogboko, Malachi Toliver, and Quintavius Johnson. That group will take care of signatures early in the day.
That leaves the 14 others — Nyier Daniels, Jordan Thomas, Justin Greene, Demello Jones, Michael Uini, Colton Heinrich, Chauncey Bowens, Drew Miller, Kristopher Jones, Nate Frazier, Dwight Phillips Jr., Marcus Harrison, Nasir Johnson, and Nitro Tuggle — set to sign either Wednesday or later in the early signing period. Many of that group will join the other 13 players for Orange Bowl practices around Christmas.
There’s also one 5-star talent still out there Georgia’s chasing. 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong reported Tuesday afternoon that Georgia had reclaimed the momentum in safety KJ Bolden’s recruitment. Bolden has been committed to Florida State since Aug. 5. All of his public indicators would suggest he’s locked in with the Seminoles. But there’s enough Signing Day intrigue there that it’s worth paying attention to his final Wednesday afternoon decision.
Follow along below as we keep track of the Bulldogs’ 2023 class. We’ll update the signings as they come in as well as any surprises that occur, whether that be Georgia landing an unexpected commit or any unseen twists among Georgia’s committed players:
4:25 p.m.: 5-star safety KJ Bolden has officially signed. That means all of Georgia’s 28 commitments have signed and sent in their national letters of intent.
1:32 p.m.: 247Sports is calling it, declaring Georgia’s class as the No. 1 in the country for the 2024 cycle. The Bulldogs have 316.03 points among 28 players.
1:20 p.m.: Georgia has capped off the 2024 class in style by convincing five-star safety KJ Bolden to flip from Florida State to Georgia. Bolden’s decision and impending signature will put the Bulldogs at 28 signees and has secured the No. 1 class in the country.
12:09 p.m.: Georgia’s third inside linebacker of the class is officially in. Four-star Kristopher Jones has signed his national letter of intent. Georgia has now signed each of the 27 commits it came into Wednesday with. All that Georgia is waiting on now is an answer from 5-star safety KJ Bolden, who will announce his decision at 1 p.m. ET.
11:00 a.m.: Nate Frazier rounds out Georgia’s star-studded 2024 running back group. The California commit is now a signee. He inked his letter of intent to the Bulldogs.
