Liam Coen drawing interest from Ohio State

On Friday, it was reported that Kentucky Wildcats offensive coordinator Liam Coen was interviewing for the Chicago Bears’ OC position

Now, Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio is reporting that Coen will now be a candidate for the Ohio State position to be the offensive coordinator.

With Coen returning in 2023, many thought he would at least stay in Lexington for two seasons, but it could be another one-and-done with him. After leaving Kentucky to be the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, he decided to come back to Lexington to give it another shot under Mark Stoops.

Ohio State went 11-2 last season under Ryan Day, and with the disappointing results, Day has decided to give up play-calling and will be looking for an offensive coordinator to call plays.

If Coen does decide to leave, it will be a massive loss for Kentucky after bringing in Brock Vandagriff, Cutter Boley, Chip Trayanum, and Ja’Mori Maclin. Losing a coach so late into the year would leave Kentucky scrambling to find a replacement at a time when there are probably not going to be a lot of great options.

Make sure to keep checking with A Sea of Blue, as we will keep posting updates about Coen in the near future.
