Nottingham Forest do not have any interest in keeping Gustavo Scarpa.
That is according to Rádio Itatiaia, which has noted what Forest plan to do amid interest from Internacional in Scarpa.
So, what has been reported about Nottingham Forest and Gustavo Scarpa? Let’s take a look.
Well, according to Rádio Itatiaia, Nottingham Forest do not have any interest in keeping Gustavo Scarpa.
Brazilian club Internacional are keen on signing Scarpa. Forest are willing to let the 29-year-old attacking player leave.
The Reds have “no interest” in keeping Scarpa, according to the report. The 29-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a winger, is on loan at Olympiacos at the moment.
However, Scarpa is struggling to make an impact at Olympiacos. Internacional are determined to get a deal done, but the Brazilian player himself wants to stay in Europe and also has a high salary, according to the report.
In my view, Nottingham Forest are not going to miss Gustavo Scarpa at all.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder joined Forest on a free transfer in January 2023. He struggled to do much of note in the second half of last season and was sent out on loan to Olympiacos in the summer of 2023.
Forest manager Steve Cooper clearly does not fancy him. The playmaker made six appearances in the Premier League for the Reds last season. He did not score or provide an assist.
I believe that it would be best for Forest to just let Scarpa leave for good. I do not see how he could establish himself in the Reds’ first team.
Forest are 15th in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from 14 matches. The Reds are six points above the relegation zone.
