Florida State officially adds Alabama DB transfer Earl Little Jr. to roster

The Seminoles have officially added an elite talent from Alabama to its roster

Florida State has officially added Alabama defensive back transfer Earl Little Jr. to its roster, the school announced on Monday.

“I’m so very excited about the addition of Earl and the elite-level potential he brings. He is a special young man with tremendous talent who has dealt with a few minor setbacks with injuries to start his collegiate career, but his best days are ahead. Earl is incredibly smart and instinctive and will be a wonderful addition playing the Nickel position. I’m fired up for his continued growth and impact as a Seminole,” head coach Mike Norvell said via release.

The redshirt sophomore, who is measuring in at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds these days, appeared in 11 games in two seasons at Alabama and recorded two tackles.

Little is a versatile player with the ability to help at cornerback, nickel or safety within FSU’s defensive scheme.

He’s the son of nine-year NFL veteran Earl Little Sr. — who played for the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers while in the league.

Little Jr. was also coached at American Heritage by current FSU defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr.. Also in high school, he played alongside other FSU transfer additions like edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. — who is at FSU by way of Georgia — and defenisve back Davonte Brown — who is at FSU by way of Miami and UCF.

247Sports was extremely high on Little coming out of high school — ranking him as the No. 84 prospect and No. 12 cornerback in the country according to the Top247 Rankings. In the Transfer Portal rankings, Little is the No. 125 overall player and the No. 11 cornerback in the portal.
