Danilo has sent a message to Rangers supporters from his hospital bed following his horrible head injury at the weekend.
The Brazilian clashed heads with Liam Gordon in the process of scoring for the Gers in their 2-0 win at St Johnstone on Saturday [16 September].
According to an update provided by the Daily Record
In a message posted on his Instagram story on Monday [18 September], Danilo paraphrased a Bible psalm.
“I lift my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from?” he remarked. My assistance comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.
“The Lord watches over you; the Lord is your shade at your right hand; neither the sun nor the moon will harm you during the day or at night.”
on Sunday [17 September], Danilo is now facing “several weeks” on the sidelines.
“The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
Rest up
However long it takes Danilo to recover from the head injury, it is important he does not rush back to the field.
The collision at McDiarmid Park was nasty to say the least, denying the 24-year-old the chance to celebrate his goal in front of the Gers fans.

That goal was supposed to help Danilo kick-start his Ibrox career, but as it is he now faces a frustrating period on the sidelines.
“Several weeks” is a rather vague update, although it seems likely Danilo will not be back on the field until after the November international break.
Michael Beale now has one less option to choose from in attack, but it should at least mean he falls on a settled starting line-up for now.
The most important thing is that Danilo rests up, recovers and returns ready to pick up from where he left off, whenever that may be.
