Rabbitohs flyer considering move to forwards

He recently played in the second-row on the international stage.

Winger Taane Milne of the South Sydney Rabbitohs has stated that he is willing to switch to the forward position in order to make room for new recruit Jack Wighton.

There has been a lot of talk over Wighton’s usage and place on the team after he joined from the Canberra Raiders.

The veteran, who spent much of his Raiders career playing in the halves, is most likely to be utilized in the centers because Cody Walker is playing halfback and Lachlan Illias at five-eighth.

There will only be one open space in the backs with Wighton’s arrival because Latrell Mitchell will be wearing the number one jersey and Alex Johnston and Campbell Graham will be securing their spots in the backline.

Winger Taane Milne is one of the guys that will be vying for that position. The Fijian international, who participated in the Pacific Championships as a second rower, maintains that he is open to switching to the forward position.

According to Milne, via NRL.com, “I’m really excited because it’s going to be good competition for spots.”

I just want to play wherever I am. There are plenty of excellent outside backs in Fiji, so I’m just pleased to fill in at the places that are needed.

I’ll see how I do; all I want to do is play football. A few years back, I participated in some NSW Cup second row play, but our squad has some excellent second row players in Keon [Koloamatangi], Cameron [Murray], and Jai [Arrow].

Additionally, Milne would talk about his friendship with Jack Wighton, a former NSW Origin and Australian Kangaroos representative who is very close to standout fullback Latrell Mitchell.

The team’s players reportedly couldn’t wait to have him join them, and captain Cameron Murray showed up early to training so that Wighton could participate in his first session dressed in red and green.

Sean Keppie is another fresh face that can be seen at Heffron, the Rabbitohs’ new training complex, in addition to Wighton.

Milne continued, “I’ve met him before, and he’s a good guy, so he’s really going to fit into our club.”

He’s going to fit right in since he’s a dad too, and at our club, we drive excellent dads.

“We are thrilled that he is joining us at South Sydney. He is a great player, so he will add attack and defense to our squad.”

“We’re ready to go because we’ve moved past the previous season and I know we’re going to shake up this competition next season.”
