Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has a very impressive selection of midfielders at his disposal in the Championship right now, and Glen Kamara might be getting the nod today.

Russell Martin’s Southampton await for Leeds and Daniel Farke this afternoon, as the Whites aim to continue their fine run of form and pile misery on the Saints.

How they set up this afternoon isn’t clear-cut after the demolition of Watford last weekend, and Farke’s midfield presents a common selection headache each week.

Who could start in midfield?

The double pivot in front of the defence for Farke has one place nailed down and not expected to change any time soon with Ethan Ampadu one of the best players in the division right now.

Who partners him at the base of midfield is more of a debate, though, with Archie Gray playing in every game so far this season and starting them all up until the Watford clash, doing so well, but showing signs of fatigue at Hull City.

In his place last time out was £5.5million signing from Rangers, Glen Kamara, who looked brilliant alongside the Welsh international.

Bad news for Gray?

The 17-year-old will have been buzzing to play so often for his boyhood club, and doing well in the process, but you get what you pay for in Kamara.

Such a fee for the £22,500-per-week

Kamara’s lack of pre-season always meant he was going to be a slow burner at first, but his performance against the Hornets surely makes him a starter from now on.

Gray might start today, but he knows he’s got some incredibly strong competition for his place, and this is before we’ve seen what Ilia Gruev can do too.

midfielder looks to be promising a great deal right now after his start to life south of the border.
