POSTECOGLOU COULD MISS OUT ON ‘SPECIAL’ ARSENAL TARGET AGAIN

Ange Postecoglou may miss out on signing Red Bull Salzburg’s Oscar Gloukh again having first targeted him for a move to Celtic in 2022.

Oscar Gloukh has been scouted by Arsenal with Tottenham Hotspur in danger of missing out on the Red Bull Salzburg talent.

According to The Sun, Arsenal sent scouts to watch Gloukh play for Israel during the international break.

Gloukh, dubbed’special’ by former Israel star Gil Vermouth, took advantage of his opportunity to shine, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Romania before playing the whole 90 minutes against Belarus.

The 19-year-old has had a strong start to the season, with three assists and one goal in just eight appearances.

Red Bull Salzburg could cash in on Gloukh in the future, with Arsenal reportedly interested.

Tottenham Hotspur also eyeing Oscar Gloukh

The Sun reports that Manchester United scouted Gloukh last week, so Arsenal may have competition for him.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, with Arsenal’s fierce rivals showing an interest in the summer.

The Guardian reported in July that Tottenham are interested in signing Gloukh and pairing him with Israel international teammate Manor Solomon.

That may appeal to Gloukh, but Ange Postecoglou may be concerned about losing the playmaker for a second time.

Postecoglou wanted Gloukh at Celtic

In September 2022, the Daily Record reported that Postecoglou was very interested in signing Gloukh.

Gloukh was said to be on a list of Celtic targets for the January transfer window, with Postecoglou pushing the interest.

Gloukh was still with Maccabi Tel Aviv at the time, and when the transfer window opened, Celtic lost out to Red Bull Salzburg.

Postecoglou, naturally, still loves Gloukh and believes he is a good match for his attack-minded style.

The news that Arsenal is scouting Gloukh may jolt Tottenham into action, with Postecoglou no doubt fearful of missing out on him for a second time.
