Freddie Mercury’s ‘wife’ Mary Austin set to make an extra £200million from Queen icon
When Freddie died in 1991, Mary got half of his estate and then got another 25% when his parents died. She also gets 18.75% of revenues from Queen Productions, which controls the band’s catalogue and also pays out to Roger Taylor, John Deacon and Brian May.

Mary Austin is the former fiancée of the Queen frontman and won over his heart. She is now reportedly set to bank £187.5million thanks to the band making a record-breaking deal to sell off their back catalogue. Queen will be selling off their songs to Song for a staggering £1 billIt has been reported Mary has little contact with the surviving members of the band although they are all trustees of the Mercury Phoenix Trust, set up in Freddie’s honour. The latest addition to her bank balance is likely to put Mary into the Top 100 Britain’s richest women.
Earlier this year, Mary put up Freddie’s ‘country house in central London’ for sale. He tragically passed away in the Kensington home three decades ago and had purchased the property back in 1985. The mansion went on the market for £30million after its value has increased sixtyfold. Freddie reportedly fell in love with the home from the moment he set foot inside, and made an offer on the spot for half a million.
