Aleksander Sekulic, the head coach of the Slovenian national team, has chosen one of our star player for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The roster includes Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, who is currently preparing for the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.

Crvena Zvezda’s big man, Mike Tobey, has been selected for the naturalized player spot. Tobey has consistently represented Slovenia in major tournaments, including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 EuroBasket, the 2023 FIBA World Cup, and the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers.

Maccabi center Josh Nebo is not on the roster, despite interest from the Slovenian national team.

Slovenia will start their OQT preparations on Monday, spending the first week in Zrece before moving to Ljubljana.

NBA players are permitted to join their national teams on June 17.

When could Luka Doncic join the Slovenian national team?
Slovenia is placed in Group A, alongside New Zealand and Croatia.
