“I want to win a national championship:” Day two of newcomer interviews discuss aspirations, positional versatility, and Tour of Duty

BJ Gibson, Jalen Brown, Grady Kelly, and Tomiwa Durojaiye talk to the press Thursday morning

Four recent arrivals with various life experiences and backgrounds had their first interview with Florida State media on Tuesday. Every one of them returned to the same thought.

“Winning a national championship is my goal.”

Every athlete was aware of the demands placed on them to finish their playing career at FSU and knew what had to be done to fulfill those goals.

Beginning the day, BJ Gibson talked about his recruitment and the dedication he showed by not going back after pledging his allegiance to the Seminoles in April.

“I was most at ease in Florida State.” that connection with Coaches Norvell and Dugans.

Redshirt freshman Jalen Brown, who had just bought a new automobile, posted on Instagram about the influence the outstanding LSU wide receivers had on his play after the early enrollee.

“I learned a lot from Brian and Malik. Malik assisted me in running my route. Brian assisted me with the ball’s high point. Simple adjustments that made a difference in my game.

The first of two defensive lineman talked with the media after Jalen Brown completed his play. Grady Kelly radiated confidence and leadership in his opening remarks regarding his trip to Tallahassee.

To cap off the day, Tomiwa Durojaiye said emphatically that he would play defensive end in the next campaign.

Since I’ll most likely be playing defensive end, Coach JP will be my main mentor. However, Coach Odell and I will be working together; they can prepare me for things I never would have thought possible.
