‘A lot more to come’ from Youri Tielemans, yet to ‘hit his ceiling’ at Aston Villa

We’re delighted to welcome Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…

Youri Tielemans still has a lot more to show Aston Villa fans, but his hunger to succeed will hopefully see him earn more minutes, according to Ty Bracey.

In a rare starting opportunity for his new club, the Belgian was selected for Aston Villa’s return to European football, a dream that quickly turned into a nightmare as Unai Emery’s men suffered a shock 3-2 defeat against Legia Warszawa. Tielemans did not shower himself in glory in Poland, but the pedigree is certainly there for him to emerge as a crucial player at Villa Park.

In his substitute appearances in the Premier League, the former Leicester City midfielder has looked assured on the ball and has contributed to some of Villa’s excellent play. Against Crystal Palace, his through-ball to Moussa Diaby was perfect, leading to Leon Bailey’s game-settling strike late into stoppage time.

Bracey, on the other hand, believes the 26-year-old hasn’t “hit his ceiling” yet. However, when he does make it onto the pitch, Bracey believes he is doing everything well, and a more permanent place in the team could be on the cards.

Bracey told Villa News exclusively, “He’s hungry to succeed.” I don’t believe Tielemans has reached his peak; there is still a lot more to come from him. I hope he gets more playing time because he’s doing his job.
