
Francis, Walton earn Winter 2025 Big 12 All-Academic Team..
Texas Tech men’s basketball student-athletes Jack Francis and Kerwin Walton earned Winter 2025 Big 12 All-Academic Team selections for their work in the classroom. The Big 12 announced the selections this week, honoring 671 student-athletes from Big 12 institutions and affiliate members.
Walton, who graduated from Tech in December 2024, was the only Red Raider to start every game last season and finished the season averaging 6.0 points and by making 63-of-159 (39.6 percent) of his 3-pointers. A psychology major, Walton played three seasons at Texas Tech where he would produce 600 points and 151 made 3-pointers in 97 games as a Red Raider. He began his career at North Carolina and finished his collegiate career with 943 points and 232 made 3-pointers (41.9 percent). An Austin native majoring in general business at Tech, Francis played in 11 games during his junior season and has appeared in 16 games in his career. Francis made his first career basket with a layup in the non-conference win over Oral Roberts
