The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have received a massive boost, with star centre and captain Stephen Crichton officially signing a three-year contract extension. The deal will keep the 24-year-old at the club until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
Crichton, who joined the Bulldogs in 2024 from the Penrith Panthers, has quickly become a cornerstone of the team’s rebuild. Appointed captain in his debut season at Belmore, he has led by example, helping guide the Bulldogs to a strong start in 2025. As of mid-May, the team sits sixth on the ladder—an impressive turnaround from previous years.
His experience, including three consecutive NRL premierships with Penrith from 2021 to 2023, has been invaluable. Known for his clutch plays and calm under pressure, Crichton brings both elite talent and leadership to a young, hungry squad.
“I’m really excited to be staying with the Bulldogs long-term,” Crichton said following the announcement. “This club means a lot to me. We’ve got a great group here, and I truly believe we’re building something special.”
Coach Cameron Ciraldo praised the extension, saying Crichton’s influence on and off the field has been crucial to the team’s progress. “Stephen sets the standard every day. He’s a leader our younger players look up to.”
The Bulldogs’ commitment to securing Crichton reflects their long-term vision to return to premiership contention. With their captain locked in, fans can expect the club to continue pushing forward with confidence.
