Breaking News: American football player will miss Georgia’s Pro Day due to injury, per report

Jalon Walker won’t be a part of Georgia’s Pro Day on March 12 due to a quad strain that he suffered while doing offseason training, sources told ESPN’s Jordan Reid on Tuesday afternoon.

The star edge/outside linebacker will instead hold a private workout for NFL scouts a little over a month later on April 17, giving him time to heal from the injury and put his best foot forward in the leadup to this spring’s NFL Draft.

Walker is one of the top edge players in this year’s draft class. Sources told Reid that Walker injured his thigh during the fateful training session. The injury isn’t considered to be serious, but it’s serious enough that Walker isn’t taking any chances in trying to be a hero just to participate in the Bulldogs’ Pro Day next week.

The private workout that Walker will hold in mid-April will be in front of scouts and NFL personnel executives.

Walker also did not work out with fellow edge rushers and linebackers during last week’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

In his latest mock draft, Reid has Walker listed as the No. 15 selection overall. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Walker as the No. 8 player overall on his latest big board and Walker is a top-10 player on ESPN’s consensus draft board.
