BOOM! Ohio State lands another offensive tackle in transfer portal….

Ohio State continues to address the depth issue on the offensive line as the Buckeyes got another good one to battle in the trenches. Ethan Onianwa has committed to wearing Scarlet and Gray for the 2025 season.

Onianwa comes via the transfer portal from Rice. He was a three-star prospect coming out of high school in Katy, Texas, but quickly developed into a stalwart for the Owls at the right tackle position. The 6 foot 6, 345-pound lineman has been rock solid in pass protection giving up only one sack in 350 passing attempts on the season. Onianwa comes to OSU as the No. 13 ranked tackle in the portal and could slide right into a starting spot. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Onianwa joins Phillip Daniels from Minnesota as the second offensive tackle to join the Buckeyes via the transfer portal. Both are projected to start and will likely man each tackle position with the departures of Josh Simmons and Josh Fryar.

Ohio State is still expected to add to the offensive line. Northwestern offensive lineman, Josh Thompson recently took a visit to Columbus and has shown interest in OSU.

Onianwa becomes the fifth player to join the Buckeyes from the transfer portal this season joining the above-mentioned Daniels, and in the last 24 hours, Purdue tight end, Max Klare, West Virginia running back, CJ Donadson Jr, and Idaho State defensive end, Logan George.
