£5.6M TOTTENHAM PLAYER REJECTED ASTON VILLA APPROACH THIS SUMMER

Tottenham Hotspur ace Manor Solomon rejected approaches from the likes of Aston Villa as well as Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.

Manor Solomon only wanted to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer amid interest from both Aston Villa and Brighton.

According to Ynet in Solomon’s native Israel, who sent a reporter to London to talk with the Tottenham winger.

Other English clubs, including Aston Villa, Brighton, and Fulham, are said to have made approaches to Solomon.

Fulham’s interest comes as no surprise given Solomon’s time there last season, although Villa and Brighton appear to have joined the race.

Solomon, on the other hand, told people close to him that he only wanted to join Tottenham and turned down any other offers.

Manor Solomon making an impact for Tottenham Hotspur

Solomon arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer after FIFA allowed foreign players in Ukraine to suspend their contracts again.

Spurs do not appear to have reached an agreement with Shakhtar for the Israeli international, with Shakhtar wanting €6.5 million (£5.6 million) in compensation.

There has been little movement on that front, at least in public, but Solomon is already excelling under Ange Postecoglou.

Solomon made his debut against Burnley just before the international break, recording five vital passes, two assists, and three successful dribbles.

On Saturday, the 24-year-old was at it again, registering four critical passes, one shot on goal, and four successful dribbles.

Solomon is a terrific spark down the left wing and is putting the challenge to new recruit Brennan Johnson.

Aston Villa have liked Solomon for a while

Shlomy Ben Ezra, Solomon’s agent, stated over the summer that Villa had made a bid for the winger, but this dates back even farther.

In 2021, ONE in Israel reported that Villa were interested in signing Solomon before completing a deal for Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia.

Villa retreated as a result, but it appears that they have kept a close eye on him ever since.

Villa may have seen Solomon as competition for places ahead of their Europa Conference League campaign but will now have to face him in Premier League games moving forward.

Add in interest from Brighton – a team whose recruitment has been hailed for years now – and Tottenham will be very happy to have secured Solomon in the face of major competition.
