Head Coach Steve Sarkisian Ink’s new four year contract with Oklahoma Sooners

Steve Sarkisian has signed a new four-year contract with the Oklahoma Sooners. The head coach of the Texas Longhorns. In February 2024, the University of Texas System Board of Regents approved a contract extension for Sarkisian, increasing his annual salary to $10.3 million, with incremental raises leading to $10.9 million by 2030.

Under Sarkisian’s leadership, the Longhorns achieved significant milestones, including a 12-2 record, a Big 12 championship, and their first appearance in the College Football Playoff, culminating in a No. 3 ranking in the final AP poll—their highest in 15 years.

Given these developments, it is unlikely that Sarkisian would depart from Texas to join the Oklahoma Sooners at this time. Therefore, any reports suggesting such a move should be approached with skepticism unless confirmed by credible sources.
