Nebraska football may have suffered a ‘significant’ injury…

The Friday night loss by the Nebraska football team was bad enough. It was a bump in the road for a team that some thought might be 7-0 by the time they went into Columbus to take on Ohio State. But a game might not have been the only thing the Huskers lost.

It looks possible that NU has once again lost an offensive lineman for the season, if not most of the rest of the year. While Husker head coach Matt Rhule wouldn’t explicitly say that, his update on Turner Corcoran was far from positive.By

In the first half of the game against the Illini, Corcoran was seen limping badly as he left the field. He never returned for the Nebraska football team and during his post-game press conference that the offensive lineman’s injury was “pretty serious.”

That update, while not specific is especially heartbreaking when you consider that Corcoran is coming off an injury he suffered in October of last season that caused him to miss the rest of the 2023 campaign. He also had to sit out spring practice.

Corcoran was himself, raised to a starting position after Teddy Prochazka suffered a torn ACL in fall camp this year.

It seems likely that it will be until at least Monday before the Huskers give an official update on Corcoran. Thanks to the Friday night game, they have an extra day to do the tests and see what exactly the issue is.

There is also the issue of Tommi Hill missing a good chunk of the contest against the Illini. Rhule said the defensive back was suffering from a plantar fascia issue.
